Why choose cremation?

Well, the truth is there’s no easy answer.

The decision will come down to what’s right for you and your family.

And this will be based on your budget, personal beliefs, religion, and other factors.

The average cost of a traditional burial in the US can run $7,000 upward to $12,000 or more.  Whereas a direct cremation can run $2,000 to $3,000 (based on national averages).  It is not surprising that the number of cremations per year is growing in popularity. Factor in costs for a cemetery plot and other fees makes the decisions connected to a traditional burial overwhelming.

If you or your loved one has chosen cremation the number of decisions needed is lessened greatly.  One decision you will make is choosing the right container for your loved one.

At Valor and Ash, we feel you should have options when choosing an urn.  We offer fine hand-crafted urns that are made 100% in the USA.

Our colorful layered images are designed exclusively for our wooden urns.  They are not offered in any mass-produced site and cannot be purchased from any brick-and-mortar store.

My Story

US Air Force logo

I am proud to be a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.  Specialized in Security Forces, I had several overseas tours.  During those tours I was witness to tragedy, and the resulting courage and bravery of my brothers and sisters in arms.  Loss of loved ones comes in many forms, and the profound respect for the families left behind.

At Valor and Ash, I am dedicated to offering meaningful cremation urns that honor and remember your loved one. These wood urns are thoughtfully crafted in Montana using high quality hardwoods sourced from the Pacific Northwest, chosen for their strength, beauty, and enduring character. As a woman-owned, veteran led-business, my approach is to offer a unique urn that carries a deep respect for service, legacy, and the life being honored. Every cremation urn is made by hand and individually engraved and personalized, ensuring no two are exactly alike - just as no two lives are the same. Each piece is made with intention, care, and craftsmanship, offering families a meaningful way to honor, remember and hold close those they have lost.

Death is the end of life - but not the end of the relationship.
